Italian Veg Tan Cow Leather

We were inspired by the touch and feel of kelp and after a “what if”moment, we ventured to create these veg tan cow hides as an homage to nature’s wonderful kelp forests in the oceans.  We picked vegetable tanned skins as our base material, and we replicated the touch and feel of Kelp, including the color and then we finished them with a waxy touch. These hides were created for THOL in Tuscany, Italy to our specifications.  Give it a try and let us know what you think. These are full grain smooth cowhides and hand rubbed with aniline dyes to achieve that kelp color.
