ITALIAN VEG TAN BELT BLANKS

Our Italian Vegetable Tanned Belt Blanks/Straps are medium temper and cut from full grain Italian double shoulders of European Cow Hides.  Whether you are a professional or a newbie to leather crafting, these blanks are just perfect to try your skills and put smiles on faces. 

Note:  Leather is a natural material.  Some vein marks may be visible in places and adds to leather’s natural beauty.  Exposure to sun will darken the belt over time, producing a beautiful tan color and patina. 

Crafter Tips:

• Medium Temper yields more pliable belts and don’t need that break-in time. Some light stretching or forming may occur over time and rigorous usage, which is natural for belts.
• Vegetable tanned leather belt straps - Naturale are unfinished, therefore protect from water spots. 
• Naturale/Nude/Natural veg tan leather lends itself well to dye application by either a dauber or sponge, or dip-dyeing, followed by a protective finish coat application.
• Flesh side may be smoothened further by an application of Gum Tragacanth or edge finish creams, followed by slicking using a glass or smooth wooden slicker. 
• Oils (e.g., Neatsfoot Oil), tallow or leather conditioners may bring out the grain and vein marks and add to the leather’s natural beauty.
