Art. Roccia is a premium vegetable tanned harness leather made with great passion by Conceria La Routa Srl from Tuscany in Italy. Knowledge passed down through generations has helped them achieve this level of high quality product from their tannery. La Ruota routinely supplies vegetable tanned shoulders to European crafters who seek out their consistency and high quality. La Ruota is excited to be making their entry into the US with Art. Roccia, and we are equally thrilled to carry this awesome article for you with, hopefully, many more to come. Try La Ruota’s Art. Roccia, and let us know how much you love them. This article is best suited for Belts, Straps, Equestrian Goods, etc. Being a vegetable tanned leather, it lends itself well to wet molding that retains its shape upon air drying. Tooling is also well tolerated like all good vegetable tanned hides. Like all veg tan leathers, characteristic and a much loved patina will develop gradually with use.

Leather Grading Note:
At the tannery, during packout, leathers are generally graded A (Top quality) through F for finish quality standards. High grade selections are prized for making luxury grade leather goods. So, Grade-A hides command a higher price because only a very small percentage of hides of all the hides produced are able to meet a very defined set of specifications or standards —i.e., free from major blemishes, requiring minimal corrections and waste. This selective grading process ensures that only the finest, most consistent hides make it to the top, offering superior workability, durability, and a flawless finish that justifies the investment. Lower grade hides are sold at a lower price point where finish quality is not the main focus. They are generally sold as utility grade leather for other specific uses. As a leather worker, it is important to pay close attention to grades and select the right grade leather for the right application and the right price point for your leathergoods.
